It's always great getting that first awesome review of your novella or novel. Even with a pen name, it's still exciting and makes me a little nervous, especially when moving into a new genre so far away from what you normally write.
Here it is! Check it out:
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Whew, this book was unique and I couldn't put it down. I don't normally go for science fiction unless it has romance in it so I was glad that it was predominantly a romance.
The science fiction just added to the erotic, other-worldly feel - a means of escape. I'm amazed at the imagination the author had in creating another world, another reality, in this book with cultures and beings of very different ways to us. She made me feel a part of another world. Rydin is tortured by his unfulfilled sexual needs to the point where he chains himself up and puts a cilice on which sort-of clamps him up to control him. It's cruel but it's been his only way to cope. He's the only one of his breed who seems to have compassion for the many slaves of the era and buys them to set them free. Nova is one of those slaves.
The attraction between Nova and Rydin is very strong. I have never read a book with such explosive attraction and actually had to pause for a moment in certain scenes. This novella is not for the faint-hearted. Definitely for those who love their erotica strong and HOT. I didn't trust Yenla until the very end but the strange character definitely brought some conflict to the novel. I liked the character arc and the way the romance ended but I won't give it away. I think it is an unusual twist on the Beauty and Beast theme.
